La data di origine non è stata determinata positivamente , anche se sembra che sia stato dipinto ad un certo punto dopo il suo arrivo per studiare con pietro perugino in circa 1500 , possibilmente 1503-1505 . l'immagine raffigura tre delle grazie della mitologia classica . si afferma spesso che raffaello sia stato ispirato nel suo dipinto da una statua in marmo romano in rovina esposta nella biblioteca piccolomini di siena Cathedral—19th lo storico dell'arte del secolo eugene muntz riteneva che non ne fosse una copia molto abile original—but altra ispirazione è possibile , poiché il soggetto era popolare in italia . ora nella collezione del musée condé , Chantilly .
